Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala for judicial probe

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala on Monday said accused the Idukki district top brass of hushing up the custodial death of Rajkumar and demanded a judicial probe to bring out the truth.

The Opposition leader said in Assembly that the Idukki SP whose role was of a suspect in the case should be shifted out of the post for a free and fair probe. How can the cops deny treatment to grievously injured person?

Rajkumar belonged to a socially and economically backward and it is difficult to believe that he would indulge in major cheating. The police is keen on finding out the money.

“The magistrate had to go to the vehicle for recording Rajkumar’s statement and then he remanded him to 15 days custody. Do we have such magistrates,” he asked.

He said one of the members of the SIT was a police officer who was suspended for taking bribe.
