MANGAPET (WARANGAL): The Mangapet pushkar ghat, along river Godavari, is currently in a dangerous state with mud from the ghat washing away, after over four days of heavy rain. Locals now fear continuing heavy rains will rip apart the ghat completely - flooding the Narsapur village.

“The river’s current has been increasing in speed. The rain water is flowing towards the ghat and the mud has washed away. If it continues to rain like this, the entire village could end up flooded,” a resident said.

Heavy rain in the area has already inundated several homes along low-lying areas in the region. Also, the causeway between Chinthakunta and Thakkalagudem was completely washed away. The Gouraram vagu, Musalamma vagu near Rajupeta and Erravagu near Kamalapur is also overflowing.
