CM Jagan Flags Off Tractors, Combined Harvesters To Farmers

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy formally released the set of tractors, combined harvesters and other farm machinery worth ₹361.29 crore to the state’s farming community under the second phase of the YSR Yantra Seva Scheme on Friday.

He also launched 4019 YSR Yantra Seva Kendras and said these schemes are bringing Grama Swaraj in AP state.

The Chief Minister released ₹125.48 crore in subsidy into the bank accounts of farmers’ groups with the click of a button during the programme in Guntur on. The CM stated, “This is a day when the real meaning of Gram Swarajyam is realised.”

The CM drove a tractor of a farmer after flagging off the event. Every farmer going home with his tractor saluted the CM for the Yantra Seva Scheme and Yantra Seva Kendras services being offered to them by the YSRC government.

The CM released over 2,562 tractors, 100 combined harvesters and 3,573 farm machines to the RBKs-attached farmers’ groups. These apart, the state government would also launch the YSR Yantra Seva App, under which farmers can seek services at the RBKs, he said.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “We are making available the YSR Yantra Seva app for farmers to book farm implements/equipment 15 days in advance. I sincerely wish that every farmer in the RBK area will be able to use the app to fulfil his agriculture needs.”

The Chief Minister announced that sprayers, tarpaulins and breeders would be distributed in October, from which seven lakh farmers would be benefitted. Forty per cent of the subsidy would be given on purchase of these machines while 50 per cent of the cost is arranged through loans. The groups are asked to pay 10 per cent of the cost.

With the click of a button, the Chief Minister directly released ₹125.48 crore of the subsidy into the bank accounts of farmers’ groups.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said the tractors and harvesters would be at the disposal of 10,444 RBKs. Cluster-level community hiring centres (CHCs) would supervise the operations.

The government handed over 3,800 tractors, 391 combined harvesters and 22,580 farm machines worth ₹690.87 crore to farmers’ groups working under 6,525 RBKs in the first phase of the scheme, with a subsidy of ₹240.67 crore, besides setting up 391 CHCs.

The CM explained that the scheme aimed at reducing the cost of cultivation and enhancing farmer income through mechanisation. He further explained that tractors, harvesters and other machines can be hired by farmers for lesser rents.
