Nizamabad: Complaints have been pouring in against the Telangana state Wakf Board for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by finalising tenders for the Dargah Hazrat Syed Saadulla Hussaini in Badapahad of Nizamabad district.

During the Lok Sabha elections, the officials of the Wakf board finalised tenders for the annual maintenance of the shrine. A complaint was lodged against them.

Mr Shaik Zaheeruddin, a regular visitor of Bada Pahad dargah filed the complaints with the state Election Commission and the minister for welfare.

Mr Zaheeruddin said that if tenders would have been done in a transparent and fair manner, Bada Pahad dargah should get more income and amenities improved for the devotees.

He alleged that few officials mislead the higher-ups and finalised the tenders. Tenders during peak election campaign influenced some voters in Banswada Assembly constituency limits.
