Foundation laid for IC at Donakonda

The Corridor is being developed with internal roads, drains and basic infrastructure at an estimated cost of Rs 8.35 crore.

Nellore: AP minister for forest and environment, Sidda Raghava Rao said that the government has been taking steps to establish a mega industrial hub at Donakonda in Prakasam district.

He was speaking to media persons after laying the foundation stone for an Industrial Corridor (IC) of the AP Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporati-on (APIIC) at Ragamakkapalli in Donakonda mandal to establish 220 units.

The Corridor is being developed with internal roads, drains and basic infrastructure at an estimated cost of Rs 8.35 crore.

The minister said that the region was all set develop in all respects because of industrial activity while pointing to 2450 acres of land handed over to APIIC to establish the industrial hub.

The government was establishing Amaravati logistics which would invest Rs 800 crore at Donakonda and efforts were on to setup major industries in 12,668 acres, he noted. He expressed confidence in mobilising investments to the extent of Rs 3,000 crore to the Donakonda region.

The Minister unveiled a bronze statue of N.T. Rama Rao at Donakonda besides a 33/11 KV substation built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.80 crore at P. Venkatapuram in Donakonda mandal.
