Builder misleads Hyderabad High Court

Hyderabad: Taking a serious view of a builder constructing an illegal structure by misleading the court, the Hyderabad High Court has ordered his presence before it on March 9. One K. Prabhakar Reddy, a builder from Manikonda area had approached the High Court in 2013 seeking direction to the Manikonda gram panchayat not to demolish his residential complex.

While granting the stay on the demolition, the court ordered that the petitioner not to use or put to use the offending structures  for occupation and not make  any constructions  either  by  way  of  additions  or  improvements.

The court also directed the petitioner to take  photographs  of  the existing structure from all the four sides of the building and  submit sets to the gram panchayat and also to the  Registrar  (Judicial)  of  the  Court. Later, the gram panchayat moved a contempt case against the petitioner alleging that he failed to obey the orders of the High Court and constructed an extra floor.
When the case came up for hearing before Justice C. Praveen Kumar, he took a serious view and appointed an advocate as amicus curie to visit the premises and submit a report. In his report the amicus curie submitted that the construction was made in utter violation of the sanctioned plan. The judge then summoned the builder.
