Vijayawada: The Union Budget has disappointed Andhra Pradesh. Barring the capital gains tax exemption for the capital area’s farmers, the Budget has not addressed any of the state’s issues.

The railway zone for Vizag, revenue deficit, support for capital city and other issues found no mention. Telugu Desam Party is celebrating the capital gains tax exemption even as opposition parties lashed out at it. People expected a Railway zone for Vizag, but there was no mention of that in the Budget. The only useful decision in the Budget is the 20 per cent capital gains tax exemption for about 25,000 farmers.
