Government staff demand release of pending dues

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (APJAC), Amaravati, has demanded that the state government pay all dues that are pending without any further delay.

The dues include dearness allowance, surrender leaves, GPF, APGLI, and retirement benefits. They are yet to be paid to all government employees, police personnel, and pensioners.

At a meeting that APJAC Amaravati secretariat held at the Revenue Bhavan in Vijayawada on Thursday, JAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu stated that thousands of crores are yet to be paid to lakhs of employees and pensioners, including from the time of Covid-19 pandemic.

In this context, he recalled that the government has failed in giving compensatory appointments to kin of zilla parishad teachers, hundreds of whom died due to Coronavirus.

APJAC Amaravati Secretary-General P. Damodara Rao was among those present at the meeting.
