Hyderabad: Good Samaritan gets a surprise

Hyderabad: A banker who volunteers in assisting traffic police in Cyberabad was in for a surprise when a stranger gifted him a raincoat.

The banker, Mr Vidhya-sagar Jagadeesan, works for ICICI Bank. During the rainy spell last week, he was out helping the traffic cops. His work was noticed by Meghna, a techie, who works in the same building.

On Monday, after five long hours of work, Vidyasagar was sitting in the corridor outside his office when Ms Meghna walked in with a raincoat and a small thank you card.

“Last week, when I saw you, you were working on the road with no raincoat. I could not thank you then,” she told Mr Jagadeesan.

“I was bowled over by her gesture," said Mr Jagadeesan. "She said that she had been searching for me since Friday, but since I was travelling she couldn't find me.”

Mr Jagadeesan works in the Gachibowli branch of the ICICI Bank and has been volunteering with the Cyberabad Society Security Council for the last 10 months.

At peak hours, 200 members of the NGO Mr Jagadeesan belongs to work alongside the city police, helping them to manage the flow of vehicles.
