Hyderabad: Responding to news report published in DC on illegal structures along lakes and nalas in Manikonda and Puppalaguda in the IT corridor, Ranga Reddy district officials on Friday took up a demolition drive followed by a visit by panchayat raj minister Jupally Krishna Rao.

District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Ms J. Aruna said that they had identified about 15 illegal structures in Manikonda of which six were demolished and the remaining would be demolished on Saturday.

“A few structures were very big and we did not have adequate manpower and equipment on Friday. We shall go with a large proclainer and more manpower on Saturday,” she said.
