Kozhikode: The Kerala police have been trying to book two Salafi preachers who propagate extreme ideology and misguide the youths to lead an Islamic life in the caliphate.

The prominent one is Shamsuddin Palath aka Shamsuddin Fareed, 42, whose speeches are available on the YouTube. The other is a young man based in Kannur city.

According to Shamsuddin Palath, true Muslims cannot live amidst 'Khafirs' as Allah would question it.

"We cannot take part or cooperate with the festivals or birthday celebrations of 'Shirks.' No wishes to their functions or donation to temples are allowed. Practices like receiving Ayyappa swamis on the premise of mosques are most un-Islamic," he says. According to him, a true Muslim can only show justice to non-Muslims, but it could not develop as a bonding.

“Suffering of any Muslim across the world should be treated as our own. Nothing, including nationality, should be a barrier for helping Muslim brethren,” he states.  Shamsuddin Palath reminds the believers that non-Muslims cannot be let off to live as per their beliefs. "It is the mandatory duty of each Muslim to make non-Muslims to accept Tawhid (monotheism)," he says.

Palath, having masters degree in Arabic, hails from Chevayur, Kozhikode, and was teacher in various Arabic institutions. He was arrested in 2012 by Tirur police for allegedly raping his student when he was teaching in an Arabic college at Valavannur.

The police want to book them in connection with the missing of 17 persons from Kasargod through ideological indoctrination.  "Some strong links other than hate speeches are needed," said a top cop. Currently, the NIA is probing the missing of 21 youths from Kerala.
