Nellore: Cops investigate case of widow found burnt

Nirmala was living in BV Nagar after the death of her husband and shifted to Ramalingapuram 2 months back.

Nellore: Teams formed by police authorities to investigate into the murder of a 45-year-old widow living alone at Ramalingapuram in Nellore on Tuesday night suspected the role of a person having intimacy with her.

It may be mentioned that the woman identified as B. Nirmala Bai is working in a private school. She was survived by a son working in Bengaluru and daughter pursuing lab technician course in Tirupati.  

Nirmala was living in BV Nagar after the death of her husband and  shifted to Ramalingapuram 2 months back.

She was found in flames and initially police assumed that it was an accidental death. However autopsy report indicated  10 stab wounds on her neck. This led police to book murder case.

Police started investigation suspecting the role of some known person to her are behind the murder as there was no indication for any struggle or resistance from the woman in the scene.

The hunch turned out to be correct after police investigated deep in to her past and detained a person. Sources in police said that the accused and took away gold jewellery and valuables to misguide that it is a murder for gain.

Pointing to the investigation still in progress, police said that they will produce the offender before the media in a day or two.
