Kodanad Estate murder: BJP demands detailed investigation into break-in
BJP has demanded a proper investigation into the incident.
CHENNAI: Claiming there is something more than meets the eye in the security breach and murder in Kodanad Estate bungalow of late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, the BJP has demanded a proper investigation into the incident. “Although it looks like an honest probe, there have been mysteries, accidents and deaths. Initially police said nothing was stolen... now they say some articles were stolen. So we seek an expanded probe,” BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Sunday.
Hits out at Stalin’s ‘concern’ for AIADMK:
Dr. Tamilisai lashed out at DMK working president MK Stalin for alleging that the Centre has created a crisis within the AIADMK and that it was utilising the CBI for its political gains, and asked him the reason for “being so concerned about the ruling AIADMK.”
“I am surprised and so are the DMK members as to why elder brother Stalin is concerned about AIADMK’s continuance in power. As opposition leader he ought to criticise the AIADMK but it seems to be other way round,” she said going hammer and tongs against Stalin. In a video uploaded on her facebook page on Sunday, she asked him to explain the reason for backing the AIADMK.
Wondering if Stalin meant to say that AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran should not be arrested despite the authorities having clinching evidence against him, Dr. Tamilisai said he spoke like a political greenhorn when he said the Centre was misusing the CBI for political gains. “This baseless allegation comes from a leader of a party that had ruled Tamil Nadu and was also at the helm during the UPA regime. The only occasion when leaders were arrested without any evidences was during the emergency period. Stalin whose party is an ally of the Congress has no locus standi to utter such remarks,” she said.
