DGP Krishna Prasad: Rash driving cause of Kothakota accident

Mr Prasad said that a meeting would be held with the officials of departments concerned to prevent accidents in the future on the stretch.

Hyderabad: The accident at Kothakota in Wanaparthy that claimed nine lives on February 21 occurred due to rash driving of the driver, said DGP Railways Krishna Prasad. 

The DG who inspected the accident spot along with officials of the roads and buildings, transport and local officials said that the driver of the ill-fated vehicle heading from Hyderabad to Wanaparthy drove at a high speed. “Due to over speeding, the vehicle jumped over the road divider and rammed into the car coming in the opposite direction,” he said after visiting the spot. 

Mr Prasad said that a meeting would be held with the officials of departments concerned to prevent accidents in the future on the stretch.
