Alwar (Rajasthan): Two convicts, Priya Seth and Hanuman Prasad, tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Alwar, Rajasthan, while they were out on parole from jail. Both are serving life sentences for separate murder cases and met while lodged at Jaipur’s Open Jail.

Priya Seth, a resident of Pali, was convicted in the 2018 murder of Dushyant Sharma. According to investigators, she met Sharma on Tinder, lured him to an apartment with two accomplices, kidnapped him for ransom, and later killed him to conceal their identities, believing him to be a businessman from Delhi.

Hanuman Prasad, also known as Hanuman Chaudhary and a resident of Barodamev in Alwar, is serving a life sentence for the 2017 murder of his wife and four children. The crime was allegedly committed with the help of his then girlfriend Santosh after his extramarital affair was exposed.

The two convicts grew close during their time at the open jail, and their acquaintance gradually turned into a romantic relationship. They reportedly remained in contact for nearly six months before approaching the court seeking parole to solemnise their marriage.

The court granted both convicts 15 days of parole, following which wedding preparations were made with the consent of their respective families. Although family members initially said the ceremony would be held in Jaipur, the venue was later shifted discreetly to a hotel in Alwar to avoid public and media attention.

The marriage was performed on the occasion of Basant Panchami according to Hindu rituals. Only a small number of close relatives attended the ceremony, and guests were allegedly instructed not to take photographs or share any details of the wedding. Mobile phone use was also reportedly restricted to maintain secrecy.

To further ensure privacy, the bride did not return to her parental home after the wedding.
