Chennai: Duo held in minor boy murder

Chennai: A day after a murder of a 16 year old schoolboy, the Sivakanchi police on Thursday arrested two youngsters who beat him to death.

The arrested were identified as A. Thanushkodi( 20) and S. Ramaswamy alias Ramu (21) of Kancheepuram.

Police said they were local ganja peddlers and due to an argument on buying and selling ganja, the duo confessed to have murdered the schoolboy.On Tuesday, M.Naveen Kumar( 16) of Chippedu along with the duo had gone to play cricket near his house. Naveen after so many hours did not return home following which his father lodged a complaint at the Sivakanchi Police.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday the body of Naveen was found in a pool of blood in Erikarai near Ellakulam.

A case has been registered and police launched a search for the duo. Meanwhile, on Thursday evening the duo were arrested from a hideout in Kancheepuram.

Police also recovered ganja from them. Investigations are on.
