Two more nuns surrender in Kottiyoor rape case

All the 10 accused in the case have surrendered before police.

Kerala police are now hunting other accused in the case.

Kozhikode: Two more nuns have surrendered in the Kottiyur rape case. They surrendered before investigating official CI N. Sunilkumar at Peravur on Saturday. With this, all the 10 accused in the case have surrendered before police. Produced at a POCSO Court (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act), Thallassery, both the nuns were released on bail.

According to prosecution, the duo, Sr Liz Maria and Sr Anitta, had helped accused priest Fr Robin Vadakkumcheryl to hide the new-born by shifting it to the orphanage at Vythiri. Prime accused in the child abuse case, Fr Robin Vadakkumchery was arrested on February 27 from Thrissur.  Police had then revealed that Thankamma Nellliyani had coordinated to shift the newborn to the orphanage at Vythiri with the help of the two nuns.
