Alappuzha: Girl raped by father, cousins

ALAPPUZHA: The Thrikunnapuzha police will record the statement of the mother of the 16-year-old girl who was impregnated after being raped by father  and four cousins.

According to the police, they decided to summon mother to get clarification on the torture the girl endured. “We want to get clarification on whether the girl was subjected to rape with knowledge of mother,” officials said.

It was on the other day that the police arrested four men  including the father for raping the minor girl.

The incident came to light after the  girl approached Medical College Hospital withcomplaint of stomach ache on June 15. Doctors  who found  that the girl was pregnant alerted the police. As a result,  police arrested a 55-year-old-cousin on the same day.

The victim told police that she was raped while she was staying in his house along with her  mother.

The mother had shifted to the cousin's residence following the torture from the girl’s father.

Two sons of the cousin were also arrested in connection with rape.
