Hyderabad: A 37-year-old TV mechanic died in suspicious circumstances after he fell from an under construction building at Hydershakote on Sunday. Police said that M. Santosh Kumar, a resident of Balanagar, could have slipped from the building or committed suicide.

Santosh Kumar, hailing from Maharashtra, was working as a TV mechanic and was staying with his wife and two kids at Shapurnagar. His childhood friend Vijay Singh owned Somu Electricals, located on the ground floor of the building where Santosh died. Santosh was using Vijay’s shop bills and bank account to get payments for his jobs.

Recently he completed a job, and got Rs 9,000 as payment and it was credited to Vijay’s account. “On Saturday, Santosh came to see Vijay to collect the amount. As it was late night he stayed back. Vijay, who stays in the Are Maisamma area, also decided to sleep on the terrace as his wife and children were not at home. Vijay, Santosh and one Suresh slept on the terrace on Saturday night,” SI V. Sudheer Kumar said.

On Sunday morning when Vijay and Suresh woke up Santosh was not to be seen. They thought he might have left. But, later they found him on the ground lying in a pool of blood on the building premises. Police suspect that he could have fallen accidentally or must have committed suicide due to depression. A suspicious death case was registered.
