Militant gunned down in Kupwara, encounter underway

Srinagar: A militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, a police official said today.

A gunbattle broke out between militants and security forces at Dardpora in Lolab area of Kupwara last night after security forces launched a search operation there, the officials said.

He said one militant has been killed in the operation, which was going on till last reports came in.
