Nellore: Young Man's Effort to Unite Brother and Lover Ends in Fatal Scooty Accident
TIRUPATI: A young man's quest to unite his brother with his brother’s lover turned tragic on Thursday night at Kovurupalli in Bogole mandal of Nellore district.
According to information, Kakarla Nadamuni of Kalikiri village in Irala mandal of Chittoor district found love on Facebook a year ago. The young woman belonged to Hukumpet in Rajamahendravaram. Their online love turned into a wish to get married.
In an unexpected turn, the young woman informed Nadamuni that her parents are in the midst of arranging her marriage. Nadamuni then decided to bring his lover to his hometown and get married to her. He entrusted the task to his younger 22-year-old brother Devendra.
On Thursday morning, Devendra and the young woman embarked on their journey to Kalikiri on a Scooty. While driving, Devendra dozed off and hit a road divider near Skybridge on the national highway at Kovurupalli in Bogole mandal. Both Devendra and the young woman were severely injured.
Locals, who witnessed the accident, called 108. An ambulance arrived and took them to a government hospital in Kavali. However, doctors at the hospital declared Devendra dead on arrival. The woman is currently undergoing medical treatment.
Police have registered a case and are investigating.
