Goods worth Rs 3.5L stolen from temple

Khammam: Burglars struck at Ramalayam temple on NST road in Khammam early on Wednesday and decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs.3.5 lakh from the hundi. 

Police said the burglars entered the temple by breaking open the main gate and damaged the CCTV cameras.

The priest, Srinivas, who came to open the temple in the morning found the main door broken. He informed the temple management and later the police. Two Town circle inspector C.H. Sridhar said the temple management revealed that 10 tolas of gold jewellery and 5.5 kg of silver items were stolen. He said that about Rs.10,000 cash was missing from the two hundis. A case was registered and investigation is underway.
