Hyderabad: Techie arrested for attacking in-laws

Hyderabad: The Neredmet police arrested a 36-year-old software engineer for attacking his in-laws and damaging their property at their house at Neredmet. 

The accused was also facing charges of domestic violence and dowry harassment and was convicted earlier in a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Neredmet inspector A. Narsimha Swamy said one M. Ramana lodged a complaint on September 11 alleging that her second son-in-law G. Subramanyam had trespassed into her house and assaulted her husband M. Ranga Rao, and damaged furniture in the house. 

Subramanyam threatened them with dire consequences if their daughter did not return to him.

Subramanyam, a resident of Bowenpally married Chandana in 2015. Due to alleged dowry harassment and physical violence, she lodged a complaint with the Begumpet women police which is under investigation, he said. “Subramanyam was arrested and booked under IPC Sections 452, 427, 504, 506 and 509 and remanded to judicial custody. 

The accused was earlier convicted by the fifth additional district judge court at Kukatpally for two years in a case of Negotiable Instruments Act,” according to  the Neredmet inspector.
