Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force team along with the Narayanguda police arrested a man for allegedly fabricating marks memos, university certificates, I-T returns statements, experience certificates of MNCs, etc.

Officials seized several fake documents, two laptops, a mobile phone and a printer from George Kaseri, 34, a resident of Himayatnagar, who ran a visa consultancy firm, police said.

While he gained knowledge about consultancy services through the Internet, Kaseri learnt about the payments consultancies charge from students who go abroad. He got in touch with Canada College at Montreal and MLC Business Technology College, Ontario, which offer diploma courses in business administration and commerce, database technology, early childhood programme and started working for those colleges as an international student recruiter. He started the consultancy at his residence, said additional DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force, S. Chaitanya Kumar.

“George selected these colleges as there is no need for a student to qualify in IELTS or PTE, these being obligatory for students who want to pursue higher studies abroad. As these colleges offer only diploma courses there is no need for the tests. He does not let the students know that the courses offered by these colleges are diplomas and charges them heavily for consultancy,” said the official.

In the process of obtaining visa and admission, he collected scanned copies of educational certificates, passports and other documents from the students who approached him. If a student had any shortcomings Kaseri would fabricate documents.
