Kerala: Channel airs visuals of abduction

KOCHI: A local television channel has aired the visuals of the abduction of the son of Kodali Sreedharan, a kingpin of hawala rackets in the state, even though police has been trying to locate him for the past three weeks. Arun was abducted from his residence, near Kothamangalam, in early morning on October 31 by a group of people in a vehicle.

The visuals show a blindfolded Arun sitting in the vehicle flanked by two of his abductors identified as Ariyil Mustafa and Rafeek. The two were later arrested by the police along with two others. But, they claimed that they, along with Arun, were kidnapped by another gang from Mysuru and that they have any knowledge about the whereabouts of Arun. Sreedharan, accused in many inter-state network of hawala dealing, is absconding. The abduction of his son is attributed to be the factional feuds amongst hawala operators.
