Kadapa: Accused sentenced to 10 years in prison for murder

Anantapur: The Proddatur Second Additional District Judge Court on Friday sentenced Siriella Doraiswamy, 33, to 10 years in prison for hacking his paternal uncle to death in an intoxicated state on June 23, 2017.

Doraiswamy was in a drunken state and quarreling with his wife in Proddatur town, Kadapa district, when his paternal uncle, G. Sudhakar, intervened and tried to calm him down. However, Doraiswamy attacked Sudhakar and stabbed him with a sharp knife. Sudhakar died two days later in the hospital.

The Proddatur police registered a case against Doraiswamy, and the Second ADJ Court of Proddatur pronounced a verdict of 10 years in prison for him, along with a fine of Rs 50,000, after the charges against him were proven. Kadapa SP Siddarth Kausal appreciated the police team for succeeding in proving the charges against the accused and securing his conviction.
