Man creates wife's profile in dating, matrimonial sites, held

Bengaluru: A techie who took to matrimonial and dating sites to harass his wife for the indifference she had with him is now cooling his heels.

The Cyber Crime Police arrested Harshavardhan Bhat (31), based on a complaint lodged by his wife Sowmya (name changed). On Sept. 11, Sowmya approached the police and lodged the complaint, in which she had said her husband Harshavardhan was creating profiles in Kannada matrimonial and dating sites using her details. Sowmya said that ever since Harshavardhan created those profiles, she had been getting a number of calls for marriage proposals and dates.  The police arrested Harshavardhan on Friday and confiscated his mobile phone and laptop.

Harshavardhan is a senior software engineer at a private firm and stays at Electronic City.
