HYDERABAD: Alleging that there was some Rs 50 crore scam in Ramagundam Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) recruitments, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief A. Revanth Reddy demanded that the government immediately sack minister Koppula Eshwar and Ramagundam MLA Korukanti Chander Patel for their involvement in the racket.

In an open letter to CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, Revanth Reddy, who is also Malkajgiri MP, condemned the arrests of Congress leaders including former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and DCC president K. Satyanarayana while they were protesting against the state government's inaction at Mancherial crossroads on Saturday.

He demanded that the government provide a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the family of M. Harish who died by suicide following removal from a job, despite paying a bribe of Rs 7 lakh at the time of appointment. "Close to Rs 50 crore changed hands at the time of recruitment. These 800 recruits were given non-regular posts, despite each of them making payment of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 15 lakh each. They were promised that jobs would be regularised,” Revanth Reddy said.

While questioning the silence of the Chief Minister and minister K. T. Rama Rao, Revanth Reddy alleged that to minimise impact of the issue in wake of Rao’s tour programme in Ramagundam on Sunday, even the autopsy was conducted in Karimnagar, far away from Ramagundam.
