Telangana: Former MLA held for assault

Hyderabad: Former MLA from Mahabubabad Sriram Bhadraiah was booked by the Chaitanyapuri police on Sunday for assaulting a realtor using the butt of his licensed gun in Kothapet. Mr Bhadraiah was in the Telugu Desam in the past, and is in the ruling TRS party now.

According to the police, Mr Bhadraiah owns a house in Kothapet, and an open plot beside his house is in dispute. A realtor named Venkatesh Gupta went to see the open plot and was noticed by Mr Bhadraiah doing so. The two men had a heated argument after whi-ch Mr Bhadraiah brought out his licensed double-barrel gun and hit Mr Gupta on his hand.

Mr Gupta was taken to hospital for treatment and later lodged a complaint with the Chaitanyapuri police under section 324 of IPC.
