Hyderabad: Traffic police beats up man

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old youth was allegedly beaten up by Kacheguda traffic policemen on Sunday for not having a driving licence and helmet. The youth, Mohd Shahid, is a labourer. “On Sunday at around 12:20 pm, Kachiguda traffic police was checking vehicles when Shahid who was riding his bike was stopped by a home guard and beaten up badly for not having a helmet and licence,” said SI T. Madhu of Kacheguda police. However, the home guard gave a different version. “The home guard claims the man did not stop his bike and hit him before trying to flee,” added the SI.

Both the man and the home guard filed complaints with cops. Kacheguda police booked a case under Section 337 (causing hurt by endangering life) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt) against Shahid and a case under Section 324 was booked against the home guard.
