Police traces two missing girls within 2 hours

The IT cell tracked the cellphone based on network pings and found that the girls were travelling on the National Highway.

KAKINADA: T. Narsapuram police traced two missing minor girls within two hours after receiving a complaint from their parents. Sub-inspector K. Satish said that the two girls, studying Class IX in Zilla Parishad High School left their house after their parents reprimanded them over studies. The parents lodged a complaint at T. Narsapuram police station around 4.20 pm. Eluru district Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) K. Latha Kumari who was informed about the issue told the district police control room to trace them, but the girls’ mobile phones were switched off.

Later, the IT cell tracked the cellphone based on network pings and found that the girls were travelling on the National Highway towards Srikalahasti.  Eluru DSP informed police officials of Nellore, Srikalahasti and Renigunta highway police. The teams found the missing girls on the bus.

Meanwhile, SI Satish said that a missing case was registered and a team of police officials went to Renigunta to bring back the girls. They will reach home on Monday.
