Hyderabad: A 2012 batch SI who was on Prime Minister's security duty was found dead on the terrace of an under construction building in Rajendranagar on Saturday. The incident happened as the PM was camping at the National Police Academy around three km away. Police said Budigam Sridhar shot himself with his service weapon in the chest due to  romantic failure and family disputes. Sridhar, belongs to Warangal district and was posted in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district.

Rajendranagar ACP K. Ganga Reddy said that Sridhar was deployed for PM’s security three days ago. He and two constables were posted on the rooftop watchpoint set up on the top of the under construction Happy Homes Konark building. The building was chosen as watchpoint it was the tallest one in the area. On Saturday morning, when constable Deepak came, he found Sridhar lying in a pool of blood.

“The last call from his mobile was made to one Bhagyalaxmi on Friday night. We suspect he was depressed due to family disputes and failed love. We are checking details and trying to get details from his family,” the ACP said. Sridhar who was working with Deepak told him that he was depressed by family problems. Souces said that on Friday night, Sridhar told the other two constables to go and take rest and that he will take care of the watch overnight. They agreed and went to sleep.

Deepak said that Sridhar was found depressed from Thursday, but never expected that he would kill himself. Police said that he could have shot himself with his 9 mm service revolver with his right hand. As there was a wedding function nearby other cops could not hear the firing sound. Based on a complaint from Deepak, police registered a case of suspicious death.
