Hyderabad: Unidentified miscreants stole a bag containing Rs 28 lakh cash belonging to a passenger of a private bus which was parked at Narketpally on Wednesday.

The Narketpally sub-inspector D. Saida Babu said that around 7.30 am on Wednesday, a private travel bus arrived at Narketpally and it was parked in front of a hotel. The passengers got down for having breakfast. A plastic businessman, Sushanth Pandey, of Odisha kept his bag inside the bus and got down to attend nature’s call.

“Some unidentified persons decamped with the bag with cash. Minutes after the incident, the victim got into the bus and noticed that his bag was missing. He searched inside and out, but in vain. Later, he approached us and lodged a complaint,” the SI said.

On Tuesday night, Sushanth boarded the bus at Brahmapur of Odisha and was proceeding towards Hyderabad. As the bus reached Narketpaly, the vehicle was halted at a hotel. Police, who registered a theft case, initiated a probe in collecting CCTV footage and being verified to identify the miscreants.
