Three-year-old girl goes missing

Tirupati: A three-year-old girl is suspected to have been abducted by an unidentified person in Nellore city during the early hours of Sunday.

The child was sleeping alongside her parents on the roadside near Mahalakshmi Temple in Kukkalagunta area.

According to Chinna Bazar inspector Anwar Basha, Ramaiah and Papamma, a couple from Kondayagunta of Buchireddypalem, came to Nellore city five days ago in search of livelihood. They are rag pickers and used to also beg on streets.

On Saturday night, the couple and their two children slept on the roadside near Mahalakshmi Temple. When the couple woke up in the early hours the next day, they realised that their three-year-old daughter is missing.

After searching for her in vain, they lodged a complaint with Chinna Bazar police station.

“We have collected CCTV footage from various cameras in the vicinity. We are analysing the footage. We will trace the missing child and reunite her with her parents very soon,” CI Basha declared.
