Hyderabad: 65-year-old army veteran held for cheating second wife

He had registered his first wife as a nominee and her daughter as legal heir for the pension he was receiving.

Hyderabad: Gullipally Appala, a 65-year-old army veteran was arrested by Keesara police on charges of cheating. 

Mr Naidu, a resident of Old Nagaram village, had married a woman around six years ago. The marriage happened at a temple in Secunderabad in the presence of the woman’s father. He told the woman that he had divorced his first wife legally and had been single since then.

However, he had registered his first wife as a nominee and her daughter as legal heir for the pension he was receiving.

All the rights on the man’s properties were with his first wife. Police said that he intentionally made sure that there was no evidence or record for his second marriage. The accused was sent to remand on Friday.
