Notorious Rowdy Sheeter Arrested in Extortion Case

Hyderabad: Sleuths from the Habeebnagar crime team on Thursday arrested one of the city’s most notorious rowdy-sheeters Mohd Khaiser, 54, who is wanted in an extortion case. He has reportedly made over '100 crore with his illegal activities.

The accused, Khaiser alias Chor Khaiser alias Mallepally Khaiser, a partner in Kohinoor family dhaba, Zaheerabad, and a resident of Nampally here, was picked up from his hideout in Zaheerabad.

Khaisar had collected Rs 2 lakh advance payment from Varanasi Yadagiri to eliminate the killers of his brother Vanarasi Raju in a 2016 case under Golconda police limits, police said.

When he failed in his mission, and Raju began pressurising Khaiser to return the advance money, the latter demanded Rs 4 lakh or get killed. Fearing for his life, Yadagiri lodged a complaint with Habeebnagar police.

Kaiser, who killed one Afzal in 1995, is into murders, land grabbing, settlements and kidnappings, police said. After returning from a year’s excommunication, Khaiser resumed his criminal activities, following which he was detained under PD Act in 2014 and lodged in Cherlapally prison.  

The accused was produced before Nampally criminal court and remanded to judicial custody.
