Harassed Kadapa girl committed suicide, say police

Ananthapur: First year degree student Anusha, resident of Maratipalli village in B. Kodur mandal of YSR Kadapa district, had been forced to commit suicide, police have unraveled.

As she always did, Anusha has gone to her college on October 20, but did not return home that evening. Her worried parents M. Rami Reddy and Lakshmi Devi lodged a complaint with Badvel police. After examining CCTV footage and making inquiries, police found her body in sand reaches of Pennar River bed at Jangalapalli in Siddavatam mandal of YSR district on Sunday, October 23.

Under guidance of district SP Anburajan, police took up further investigation. They found that Anusha took the extreme step as she was being harassed by her classmate Mahesh in the name of love.

Preliminary reports of her autopsy revealed no external injuries on her body. Police are investigating further into the case.
