Hyderabad: Couple killed in car accident

According to the police, the accident took place when the car they were travelling in dashed a tipper vehicle.

Hyderabad: A couple died on the spot in a road accident on the Warangal-Hyderabad highway at Tallagudem in Yadagirigutta on Tuesday morning. According to the police, the accident took place when the car they were travelling in dashed a tipper vehicle. 

According to Yadadri Police Inspector, Narasimha Rao, the couple, S. Srinivas Reddy, 48, and his wife, Rama Devi, 40, were heading towards Hanmakonda from Hyderabad airport when the mishap occurred.

“They were driving in a hatchback car which lacked airbags. Both husband and wife had their seatbelts on. The car was being driven in a rash manner at high speed. They were crossing the Warangal-Hyderabad highway at Tallagudem and trying to overtake a tipper vehicle in front of them when they rammed into it, leading to their instant demise,” said the official. 

Based on a complaint from Srinivas’ brother, a case was booked and the bodies were shifted to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
