BENGALURU: A Cafe Coffee Day staff has committed suicide by hanging himself at his friend’s house in Mahadevapura. In his suicide note he has blamed the management for the extreme step.

He has accused them of harassment, excessive sales pressure and lack of promotion.

The deceased Pramod (35), a native of Chikkamangaluru, was working at the Cafe Coffee Day outlet situated at Phoenix Mall in Mahadevapura from 11 years. He was staying with his family in Narayanapura.

The incident occurred on Monday.  In the suicide note, he has stated that the management had given him false assurance of promotion for years and he had to undergo stress and pressure at the workplace, including withholding of his salary, which has led him to take this extreme step. He has also mentioned about his transfer to Mangaluru by the management assuring him of promotion, which they did not keep.

Mahadevapura police have registered a case of abetment to suicide begun investigation. The police are yet to record the statement of other Cafe Coffee Day staff.
