Hyderabad: Man held, antiques seized

Police said that Toli Chowki resident Mohammad Saleh did not have documents for the antiques.

Hyderabad: The police arrested a man while he was trying to sell a 100-year-old marine telescope and an old chessboard. Police said that Toli Chowki resident Mohammad Saleh did not have documents for the antiques

The telescope bears an inscription of W. Ottway & amp; Co. Ltd, Ealing, London in 1915. Made of brass, it has a sight range of about 5 km.

Staff of the Central Zone team of the Commissioner’s Task Force  raided Saleh’s house at Samatha Colony, Toli Chowki, and found the antiques. Police said Saleh purchased the antiques from one of his friends in 2008 and intended to sell them for Rs 30 lakh.
