Hyderabad: In Cyberabad, one of the police districts within Hyderabad, women facing domestic violence can reach the police through WhatsApp on numbers 9490617261, 9490617444 and 9490617261. They can also email their complaints to Bharosa.cyberabad@gmail.com.

The Cyberabad police on Friday inaugurated patrols to attend exclusively to distress calls received on Dial 100 from women facing domestic violence. There are three teams, one each for the three zones of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. Their brief is to attend to a distress call first and then hand it over to the local She Team, which attends to only women’s grievances.

The patrols will work in three shifts and will have a head constable, a woman constable, a male constable and a driver. Such patrols, on a pilot basis, have already started working in Jagadgirigutta, Rajendranagar, Miyapur police stations. Now their services will be extended to other police stations in Balanagar, Madhapur and Shamshabad zones.
