Chennai: Public nab molesters after girl screams

Chennai: The 15-year-old gang-rape victim, daughter of an auto rickshaw driver and housemaid, on Tuesday decided not to go home because she had a quarrel with her parents.

After school, around 7 pm, from Chengalpet railway station she called her boy friend Vimal Kumar, a native of Kavannur to tell him that she was not going home.

As he failed to pick up, she called his friend Alagesan, who promised her to do the needful. He then contacted Vimal Kumar and the plus-1 student.  Alagesan and Vimal Kumar are working in private firms.

The three in two bikes rushed to Chengalpet railway station from where they picked up the girl and went to Thirukatchur as suggested by Alagesan. On the way, they  purchased liquor and food.

After finishing the drinks and dinner, the three located a motor room in a village where she was gang-raped. According to the victim, it was decided Vimal and she would sleep inside the motor room while the other two would settle on top of the room. The three took turns in sexually assaulting her and around 11.30 pm she ran out of the motor room screaming for help.

Villagers managed to overpower the three and handed them over to Maraimalai Nagar police station along with the victim. The case was later handed over to the Chengalpet all woman police station. The girl had been sent for medical check up while the police had detained the three youth for interrogation.

Call taxi driver molests schoolgirl, arrested
A 24-year-old call taxi driver who molested a class IX student on Thursday evening at Medvakkam kootu Road on Tambaram – Velachery Road was nabbed by members of the public and handed over to the Pallikaranai police.

The arrested was identified as Aslam Basha. According to the police the girl in school uniform, a resident of Medavakkam was walking back to her home after school when Aslam Basha, grabbed and groped her before pushing her inside the car. He had kept the door opened.

The girl started screaming as she struggled to get out of his grip. Listening to her cries, some motorists and passersby came for her rescue and overpowered Aslam Basha. After giving heavy thrashing, the molester was handed over to the police.
