Bengaluru: Three days after an air hostess was allegedly molested by a biker in HRBR Layout, the Bengaluru police have arrested the culprit. The accused has been identified as Prem Kumar (24), a resident of Kammanahalli and a habitual offender, who got out from jail four months ago.

Police said Prem had allegedly molested the victim late night on February 12, when she was returning home from a hotel along with her friend. Police said after coming out of jail Prem was unemployed and used to roam around KG Halli, Frazer Town, Indiranagar and Banasawadi areas in search of targets for robbery.

He had recently stolen a bike and was using the vehicle to commit crimes.
Police added that when Kumar saw two women walking towards a cross road near Mariappa Circle, he tried to snatch the bag of the air hostess.

He also molested her and fled when she raised an alarm and passersby rushed to their rescue. Though the victim was initially not willing to register a police complaint, she later did approach police.

For the police, the CCTV footages collected from various establishments located in the area helped them zero in on the culprit. The accused has reportedly confessed to the crime.

Police have also seized stolen bike. He was later produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
