Hyderabad: A 24-year-old woman met with an accident while she was on her way to the VRO exam.
She succumbed to her injuries on Sunday morning at a private hospital.
The police have identified the victim as D. Mani Mala, a housewife.
Speaking to this newspaper, sub-inspector of Dundigal police Ch. Sreenu, said, “The couple were overtaking a lorry when they accidentally hit the divider and fell.”
“The lorry which was right behind them ran over Mala due to which she sustained severe injuries,” Mr Sreenu added.
The locals rushed her to a nearby hospital.
The Dundigal police have registered a case under Section 304 (A) (Causing death by negligence) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) IPC on the container driver.
The police have registered a case and nabbed the driver for rash and negligent driving and sent him to judicial custody.
The police have also handed over Mala’s body to her family members after a post-mortem at Gandhi Hospital.
