Hyderabad: Unidentified Assailants Open Fire at Hotel Worker

Hyderabad: Unidentified assailants opened fire at a hotel worker identified as Devender G, 35, at Miyapur under Cyberabad commissionerate in the city on Wednesday night. The assailants fired at the victim indiscriminately from a very short distance. Devender died by receiving treatment.

The victim hailing from West Bengal migrated to the city for livelihood six months ago and was working as a manager in a hotel at Miyapur.

DCP Madhapur G Sundeep said the victim left the hotel and was heading home in his moped. Just a few metres from the hotel, the suspects intercepted and fired at home indiscriminately, leaving him gravely injured.

"A personal rivalry is suspected to have lead to this incident," he said.

Prima facie cops found that only one person was involved in the incident and could have used a country made firearm. The Police is yet to ascertain the number of bullets fired.

Police, along with clues team and Dog squad rushed to the spot and started a probe. Multiple teams have also been deployed to verify clues and nab the killers, they said.
