Man jumps in front of train in Bengaluru

Bengaluru Railway police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection.

Bengaluru: A 62-year-old retired employee of the police department ended his life by coming under a moving train, allegedly due to family dispute, near Kengeri on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as, Gururaj, a resident of Srigandhakaval near Nagarabavi. He was working as Section Superintendent at the State Police Chief’s office on Nrupatunga Road.

According to the police, the incident took place around 10.45 am between Nayandahalli and Kengeri.

It is said that Gururaj was seen near the railway track 30 minutes before the incident. When a train came, Gururaj ran towards the track and came under its wheels and died on the spot. Passersby alerted the police about the incident.

“The reason for the extreme step is not known. It is said there was some family dispute. However, we are yet to question his family members,” the police added.
City Railway police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection.
