4 drunk men held for groping woman on Old Airport Road

The incident allegedly took place last week and the arrest was made after the victim's colleague.

Bengaluru: The Jeevan Bima Nagar police arrested four people who under the influence of alcohol had allegedly groped a woman and attacked her colleagues in broad daylight on the busy Old Airport Road.

The incident allegedly took place last week and the arrest was made after the victim’s colleague, Arjun Nandkumar, narrated the ordeal on Facebook. Based on the post, the police took up a case and arrested Ajay (26) and Mahesh (26), residents of Kodihalli, Santosh Gowda (24), a resident of HSR Layout, and Naveen (26), a resident of Murugesh Palya. The accused who are habitual drunkard did odd jobs, the police said.

Arjun had written in his post that he and his colleagues were on their way to the office after lunch in Diamond District, Old Airport Road when one of the four drunk men groped his female colleague and she responded with a slap.

Arjun said when he approached the men to understand what happened, they allegedly pulled and tore his T-shirt. Arjun said that he immediately called the police helpline, but the police allegedly told him to hold on to the culprits till they arrived. “Well, I hope I had the superpowers to do that,” Arjun wrote.
