Hyderabad: Man gets 17 years in jail for raping minor

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old man who was arrested by the Marredpally police in February 2018 for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl in the presence of her two-year-old younger sibling was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 17 years on Wednesday. 

The case was booked on February 9, 2018, following a complaint from the victims’ parents, stating that the girls who went to buy chocolates from a nearby shop did not return and were later seen coming out of the accused’s residence.

“Both the families were residents of the same locality in East Marredpally. While the two girls went to to buy chocolates, Anil Kumar saw them and lured them inside under the pretext of offering candies and chocolates. Once inside, he threatened the younger sibling to keep quiet and assaulted the girl,” police said. 

Based on complaint, cases was booked against Anil under Sections of IPC and PoCSO Act.
