Hyderabad: Speeding car hits bike, two killed

Police registered a case for accidental death and launched a hunt to trace the car.

Hyderabad: An engineering student and her friend who is a bank employee were killed and another student sustained severe injuries in an accident in Ibrahimpatnam on Wednesday night when the the bike the trio were riding was hit by a speeding car from behind. The two girls were identified as students of TKR engineering college.

According to police, K Sreenidhi, 18 and S Niharika, 19, are first years Computer engineering students of TKR engineering college in Ibrahimpatnam. On Wednesday the duo came to Bharat Engineering college in Mangalpally to attend a test on Sreenidhi’s friend Satish’s bike (AP 13 AG 0441). While returning, a speeding car (AP 28DP 1819), travelling in the same direction hit Satish’s bike from behind on the Nagarjuna Sagar road in Koheda village. All three sustained severe injuries.

“Srinidhi succumbed to injuries at the hospital while Satish died late in the night. Niharika’s condition is  critical.” Ibrahimpatnam Police officials said.

Police on inquiry found that Niharika is a resident of Karmanghat and Sreenidhi is a resident of Narayanaguda and Satish is a resident of Hafeez Baba nagar and is working for ICICI bank. Police registered a case for accidental death and launched a hunt to trace the car.
