RSS men hack CPM worker in Kundara

Kundara police arrested four RSS activists Ranjith, Lallu, Vinesh, and Vishnu, all residents of Kuzhiyam over the attack

KOLLAM: A gang of RSS men brutally hacked a CPM activist at his house near Vellimon in Kundara on Wednesday night. Ajeesh, 29, of Suja Vilasom, Cherumoodu is struggling for life in a private medical college in Kollam with injuries on his head in the latest incident of political violence in the state. Ajeesh’s brothers caught hold of Unnikrishnan, 22, of ‘Sreehari’ in Kuzhiyam, who attacked Ajeesh and handed him over to the police later.

The CPM observed a hartal over the incident in Perinad panchayat. It was peaceful and complete. Kundara police has arrested four RSS activists Ranjith, Lallu, Vinesh, and Vishnu, all residents of Kuzhiyam in connection with the attack. Ajeesh who was an RSS activist, had joined the CPM two years back and is targeted by the goons ever since.

“The incident took place at around 11 pm on Wednesday night. Nearly 10 RSS activists came to the house of Ajeesh and destroyed the window panes of the car parked in the courtyard of the house. On hearing the noise, Ajeesh came out and was attacked by the goons brutally,” Suresh Kumar, a former panchayat member in the area told this newspaper.

On seeing Ajeesh’s brothers come to his rescue, the goons fled the scene. Unnikrishnan, who was one of the attackers, was trapped. He was tied to a coconut tree and questioned. He revealed the conspiracy and the people behind the attack which was recorded on a mobile phone. He was then handed over to the Kundara police and has been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram MCH. Ajeesh’s wife Saritha is five months pregnant. Ajeesh and his twin brother Aneesh were active RSS workers before they joined the CPM two years back.
